They could be balanced by low defence, low load capacity, and slow ascent speed. Best conservation of momentum, meaning they could maintain the most speed while changing directionįar from being just the designated water mission build, the hover ACs had a truly unique handling enabling long drifts and smooth turns, as well as allowing to consume relatively less Energy for evasion. And then, finally, the developers themselves said that the hovers are not in AC6. Then, it was stated that the game has a soft fall penalty - automatically warping you back from a bottomless pit with deducted AP - what most likely negates falling into deep water too, further putting hover legs in doubt. ![]() ![]() ![]() At the same time, the other leg types were given gimmicks that harked back to the hover legs: the tanks can now drift (ridiculous in itself, most likely done solely in order to help tanks with their overall poor mobility) while the quads can hover, but only high in the air and at diminished speed (apparently to give quads some new speciality this time, as they always have had a identity crisis of sorts, not possessing a long standing advantage of their own). The signs were revealed incrementally: first, the gameplay reveal trailer had no special focus on this leg type, only briefly showing that hoverlike AC in the Assault Armor sequence that spawned some speculation (now we know that one has to be a hover-style tank, which is still a tank). The absence of the hover legs is a big disappointment for me. ![]()
